Governing Body Meetings

SPC's governing council is the Conference of the Pacific Community, which meets every two years. In years when the Conference does not meet, the Committee of Representatives of Governments and Administrations (CRGA — a committee of the Conference) is empowered to make decisions.

The Government of Samoa is hosting the 2007 meetings of the SPC governing body: the 37th Meeting of CRGA [the Committee of Representatives of Governments and Administrations] (7-9 November 2007) and the 5th Conference of the Pacific Community (12-13 November, 2007). The meetings will be convened in Apia. [Check the meeting announcement]

Provisional Agenda and Papers of 5th Conference of the Pacific Community

2007 is a very special year for SPC. It marks our 60th year of service to the Pacific region. Our celebration of the 60th Anniversary began on 6 February this year and will culminate with the 5th Conference of the Pacific Community, which is the 60th Anniversary Conference. In this regard, we would be extremely grateful if each member of SPC could be represented at Ministerial level at the 60th Anniversary Conference. The theme for the ministerial conference defined concurrently with the Government of Samoa is 'The future of Pacific Fisheries - Planning and managing for food security, sustainable livelihoods and economic growth'.
