It is produced in both French and English. You can download or view copies, or alternatively contact us to be added to the mailing list. We welcome articles and contributions from our member countries.
2. Pacific Nutrition Network - PACNUT
This email based information and discussion group aims to keep members up to date with latest research and also to provide a forum for discussion on lifestyle and nutrition issues. Membership is open to all those working in the Pacific region.
3. Training
Each year the section offers sub-regional workshops for regional nutritionists and nutrition health workers in areas such as physical activity, diabetes and healthy eating. It also provides in-country training on request.
One of the Healthy Pacific Lifestyle Section's key activities is building the capacity of key local health workers and educators. This is mainly achieved through a combination of sub-regional workshops and in-country workshops (on request). Regional conferences are only held as needed.
Sub-regional workshops are usually skills-based and in-depth and cover issues such as communication, physical activity promotion, diabetes education etc. These workshops usually involve only a small group of participants, to enhance learning and are by invitation only.
4. Resources and publications
The Section produces a range of resources such as posters, leaflets, information booklets and videos for use in the Pacific. Most of the resources are available in English and French. A limited number of copies of most of the resources are available free of charge.
5. Technical support
The Section provides technical assistance to countries in areas such as: survey design and implementation, data analysis, report writing and programme design. We provide support in the area of NCDs, nutrition, physical activity, alcohol and
tobacco. We also support NCD and nutrition-related activities within countries through our
Small Grants Scheme.
