Profile:
Dr. Ken Cokanasiga is a veterinarian by profession. Dr.
Cokanasiga is involved in animal health and trade facilitation
issues including import risk analysis, networking with
national/regional and international animal health authorities
and organizations, the evaluation of national veterinary
services and the development of emergency response plans. He is
actively exploring ways of utilising the veterinary and animal
production resources of PICTS to assist in delivering the
programmes of the AH&P to other PICTs. He believes in the
potential of small holder agricultural enterprises and, of
downstream processing and value adding to increase our sectors
contribution to national GDPs, and increase income.

Sairusi Bulai |

Profile: Sairusi Bulai is the coordinator for the LRD Forestry and
Agriculture Diversification Group. Sairusi Bulai holds an honors degree in wood science
from the University College of North Wales in Bangor, UK. Before joining
SPC in 2002, Sairusi was the Deputy Conservator of Forests for the Fiji
Forestry Department, and was the head of the Timber Utilisation Research
Division for a number of years. Sairusi is currently a Director of the Fiji Harwood
Corporation Limited (FHCL), a government commercial company set up to
manage Fiji’s mahogany plantations.

Profile: Sidney Suma is responsible for overseeing the Biosecurity and
Trade Facilitation related activities of the SPC-LRD. With the
increased pressures of globalisation on affecting the
PICTs, He is keen to work with others within SPC, development
partners and national state and non-state partners to contribute
to the improvement in the livelihood of our people in the
islands. Biosecurity and Trade Support Group of the SPC-LRD has
a primarily role to assisting PICTs increase export trade which
facilitating essential import trade without subjecting our
islands to undue threats of pests and diseases. He is also the
Executive Secretary of the Pacific Plant Protection Organisation
(PPPO), a subsidiary organisation of the Pacific Community with
responsibilities to coordinate harmonisation of phytosanitary
measures, foster co-operation with in plant protection and other
phytosanitary matters among Pacific Community Members and other
countries and organisations.
