Four Books on Collection and Taxonomy of Insects and other
groups.
We provide here the full texts of four manuals on the collection and
taxonomy of major invertebrate and fungal groups that include plant pests. These
manuals have been generously supplied at no charge by SAFRINET, the South
African loop of Bionet.
These manuals are in PDF format for which you need Adobe
Acrobat software to read them. If you do not have this software you can download
it free of charge from the Adobe web site: [click

The version of these manuals provided here is suitable for
online viewing, or viewing on your computer screen after downloading. Another
version, with the illustrations in a higher resolution suitable for printing to
paper, is available on CD from South Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP). If you would like

These manuals have introductory sections on
the biology & classification of, and then focus on techniques such as
collection and preservation of specimens. As such they offer much of interest to
