SPC/GIZ Coping with Climate Change in the Pacific Islands Region (CCCPIR) programme

Activities in 2013:

SPC/GIZ CCCPIR is supporting the Government of the Republic of Nauru to develop their national adaptation and disaster risk management framework (RONAdapt) which outlines priority climate and disaster risks across the main sectors of the economy and society.

Activities in 2013:

Three sites have been identifed (Anetan, Anibar and Buada) to support ecosystem based resource management planning at a district level. A multi-sector vulnerability assessment will be conducted to identify key priority adaptation actions to be supported.

SPC/GIZ CCCPIR is providing technical assistance in partnership with IRENA and PPA to the Government of Nauru for the development of the country’s Energy Road Map. Two national consultation workshops and two community-based consultations have been held and an energy sector status report and power utilities assessment report have been prepared.
