| The European Union funded
South Pacific Yam Project (SPYN) is managed by CIRAD with PNG, Solomon
Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji, SPC, NRI and University of Reading as
collaborators. This project that started in 1999 will collect and describe
disease resistant yam cultivars.
The SPC Regional Germplasm Centre plays a key role in the preparation
and distribution of the promising yam cultivars for testing and trials in
the collaborating countries.
Anthranose resistant yam with commercial potential will be provided to
