On Saturday,
20 November, SPC opened its doors to the Noumea Public for an Open day,
showcasing the organization's programs and activities across the region. The day
resulted in an excellent turn out from the local community. We presented our
PopGIS throughout the day, doing live demonstrations for all five national
applications, which generated great interest and very positive feedback. |

presenting the latest available population statistics for our 22 member PICTs as

Solomon Islands Population GIS |

The Solomon islands will soon become the fifth Pacific
island country, for which we have developed a population GIS. The first
user workshop will be held in Honiara from 1 - 12 November. |

Timor Leste Census Plan

Director of
Timor-Leste Statistics Directorate and UNFPA/Timor invited the Demography
program to assist in developing a plan for census data processing and analysis.
This included a demonstration of the SPC PopGIS and CSPro assistance. |
