The Brisbane Accord Group (BAG) is a consortium of development partners formed in 2010, that supports Pacific Island countries in improving civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS) systems. BAG’s work is guided by the Pacific vital statistics action plan, which sits under the Ten Year Pacific Statistics Strategy.

Members of BAG currently include the Pacific Community (SPC), the World Health Organisation (WHO), UNICEF, UNFPA, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), the Pacific Health Information network (PHIN), the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the Pacific Civil Registrars Network (PCRN) and Fiji National University (FNU).

BAG holds annual meetings to review the work undertaken by members towards supporting the CRVS work programme within the year, and to also prioritise commitments and resources for the next year. This year the annual BAG meeting will be held in Suva, Fiji. The meeting will among others review progress against commitments made by countries towards the Regional Action Framework  for CRVS in line with the Asia and Pacific decade for CRVS (2014-2024).

The following partners agencies will be participating in the upcoming BAG meeting: UNICEF, WHO, QUT, ABS, UNESCAP and FNU.
