Participating in the festival, including the Regional Televisions Roundtable, which examined the feasibility of establishing a regional film production fund.

53rd Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW53; 2–13 March)
Providing technical support and assistance to Pacific Island country delegations attending  CSW53. Countries represented at CSW53 were: Cook Islands, Fiji Islands, Kiribati, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, as well as Australia and New Zealand.

2nd Pacific Youth Festival, Suva, Fiji Islands 13–18 July
Assisting Fiji Islands to host the festival in collaboration with other SPC programmes by providing input into planning committees and assistance with liaison and communication with participating countries and territories, media coverage, and an HIV and sexually transmitted infection (STI) awareness campaign.

11th Festival of Pacific Arts support programme
Assisting Solomon Islands with preparations for the next Festival of Pacific Arts in the areas of events management and intellectual property.

11th Triennial Conference of Pacific Women and 4th Ministerial Meeting on Women preparations
Preparing for the meetings to be hosted by the government of Tonga in 2010.  Preparatory meetings will be organised in conjunction with the Conference of the Pacific Community (SPC’s governing council) and CRGA (Committee of Representatives of Governments and Administrations) meeting to be held in Tonga this year.
