Illustrated
Travel Journal, Solomon Islands
is the work of New Caledonian artist
Patricia Bourgeois. In June 2006, the artist accompanied
her doctor husband on a humanitarian
mission to Solomon Islands, sailing
there from New Caledonia via Santo in
Vanuatu. The exhibition is a collage of
images and diary entries portraying Ms
Bourgeois’ impressions during the trip.
The exhibition is an example of how the
Human Development Programme aims to
facilitate demonstrations of different
art forms in the region in the lead-up
to and beyond the Festival of Pacific
