Our regional office situated in Port Vila, Vanuatu, is the main hub for SPC’s projects and partnerships in the Melanesian countries of Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.

The office is headed by our Regional Director, Melanesia. Our presence recognises both the development needs and the potential in this part of the Pacific, where the our largest member countries are located.

Our office is hosted by the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG). Through our memorandum of understanding with MSG, we implement many activities in Melanesia that are aligned with national development priorities as well as sub-regional development priorities that have been identified by leaders of Melanesian countries through the MSG.

Our diverse development support includes:

  • Support to all three country’s productive sectors through agriculture, fisheries and forestry technical and scientific assistance
  • Support to youth employment through the [email protected] initiative
  • Engaging with youth and young women to implement our programmes and projects throughout Melanesia
  • Support to government ministries with development statistics
