New PPHSN Publications
PHD
issue on Pacific health surveillance and response
The English version of an issue of Pacific Health Dialog on
Pacific health surveillance and response has just been released.
The publication has been coordinated by the Public Health
Surveillance & Communicable Disease Control Section of SPC with
the support of NZAID and France via the PREPARE project. It will
be published in English and French like the Telehealth issue
that was published five years ago and also coordinated by SPC
under the PPHSN framework. The surveillance issue includes a
number of articles on communicable and non-communicable
diseases. An electronic PDF version will be placed online on the
PPHSN website in the near future.
Call for papers for second monograph on public health
surveillance in the Pacific.
In
light of the 10th anniversary of PPHSN, we believe the time has
come to publish a second monograph on public health
surveillance. This publication will review PPHSN accomplishments
and services and provide ideas and proposals for the future
directions of the network. It would be great if contributions
included testimonies and points of view from various members of
the network: departments of health, laboratories, international
organisations, training institutions, donors, etc. A call for
papers was posted on PacNet in June 2006.
New call for contributions to monograph The deadline for
contributions to this publication has been extended to the end
of
June 2007.
Papers should be at least 500 words and may be up to 4000 words.
We
sincerely hope you will join us in this initiative by sending
your contributions, points of view, ideas or questions as soon
as possible to phs.cdc@spc.int
Thank you!
