The Pacific Islands Regional Ocean Forum (PIROF) was held from the 2-6 February, 2004, at the University of the South Pacific in Suva, Fiji Islands. The purpose of the Forum was to gather input from a wide variety of stakeholders regarding the actions that are needed to implement the Pacific Islands Regional Ocean Policy, which was endorsed by Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) leaders in 2002, and presented at the World Summit on Sustainable Development by the Honourable Laisenia Qarase, Prime Minister of Fiji Islands.

The Forum was attended by over 200 people from more than 20 countries. The discussions held at the Forum provided the basis for the implementation framework (the Pacific Islands Regional Ocean Framework for Integrated Strategic Action, or PIROF-ISA).

Documents related to the Ocean Forum include the implementation framework or PIROF-ISA, the PIROF Communiqué, the Proceedings of the Ocean Forum, the many statements and background documents that were prepared for the forum, the record of the discussions held in plenary, and the outcomes of the work done by the eight concurrent breakout groups. All documents can be accessed or downloaded below.
