Fiji's Earnings from Tourism Quarter 1 2011

Fiji’s gross earnings from tourism in Quarter 1, 2011 is provisionally estimated at $209.4 million. This represents an increase of $10.2 million or 5.1 per cent over the gross earnings of Quarter 1, 2010. The increase is largely due to the increase in Total Visitor Days by 65,519 days or 5.2 per cent.

The following countries contributed to Fiji’s gross earnings from tourism in Quarter 1, 2011:

  • Australia $103.4 million
  • New Zealand $20.8 million
  • United States of America $19.1 million
  • Pacific Island Countries $14.3 million
  • Rest of Asia $13.9 million
  • Continental Europe $13.3 million
  • United Kingdom $9.7 million
  • Canada $6.1 million
  • Japan $4.0 million
  • Other Countries $2.6 million.
  • Korea $2.0 million
  • Malaysia $0.2 million
