Fiji's Earnings from Tourism Quarter 1 2011

Fiji’s gross earnings from tourism in Quarter 1, 2011 is provisionally estimated at $209.4 million. This represents an increase of $10.2 million or 5.1 per cent over the
gross earnings of Quarter 1, 2010. The increase is largely due to the increase in Total Visitor Days by 65,519 days or 5.2 per cent.
The following countries contributed to Fiji’s gross earnings from tourism in Quarter 1, 2011:
Australia $103.4 million
New Zealand $20.8 million
United States of America $19.1 million
Pacific Island Countries $14.3 million
Rest of Asia $13.9 million
Continental Europe $13.3 million
United Kingdom $9.7 million
Canada $6.1 million
Japan $4.0 million
Other Countries $2.6 million.
Korea $2.0 million
Malaysia $0.2 million
