2001 Census of Population and HousingThe 2001 Census of Population and Housing is the seventh census undertaken since the country’s independence in January 1962 funded by the Australian Government through AusAid. The 2001 Census of Population and Housing is unique as this is the first time ever in the history of Census undertaking in Samoa. The Census, unlike the previous ones was conducted without any technical assistance/expertise from overseas. The first output from this undertaking has been the Census Selected Tabulations Report . This report contains only the specific tables covering the major subject matter areas such as Population characteristics, Education and Economic characteristics. A summary of the Census results is available and a full report of the Samoa 2001 Census report can be obtained from the Samoa Department of Statistics.
