FSM - Population Geographical Information System (PopGIS)

FSM Division of Statistics would like to ensure users of statistics in particular at the national level understand and put into good use the statistics it produces. While most of its statistics disseminated are in the form of texts and tables, the Division believes that presenting information in the form of thematic maps will help users understand the statistics presented better.

The Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) is one of the first 4 countries in the region that benefited from this GIS project funded by the United Kingdom Department  for International Development (DFID). The GIS is a customized application developed by the SPC Demographic Programme aimed at providing statisticians, economic and social policy analysts, sectoral specialists and planners a tool which they can use to achieve successful outcomes in their respective area of work.

What is presented here is only a selection of maps featuring selected indicators. The Division will expand its outputs using thematic maps as information becomes available.
