Room Capacity and Occupancy Rate Increases
- Rooms Available recorded an increase of 2,760 (0.3%) in Licensed Hotels, Resorts and Lodging Houses for 2nd Quarter, 2011 when compared to the same period in 2010 due
to non availability of rooms because of renovations.
- Total Room Nights sold increased by (6.3%) for second quarter 2011. Occupancy rate also recorded an increase of 2.7 percentage points to 46.8% when compared to 44.1% for
Quarter 2, 2010.
Bed Capacity and Occupancy Rate Increases
- Both Bed Spaces Available and Bed Sold (guests nights) increased by 1.6% and 10.2% respectively while Bed Occupancy also increased by 3.4 percentage points compared
to Quarter 2, 2010.
Overall Takings increases
- Takings from Accommodation, Sales of Food, Liquor, Telephone and Other Miscellaneous Charges totaled $183.3 million, an increase of 21.8% compared to Quarter 2, 2010.
Employment increases
- Paid Employment in the Hotel Sector increased by 6% compared to Quarter 2, 2010.
