released its 1st quarter 2006 CPI.

2005 Statistical Report
The Office is currently drafting the 2005 Statistical Report. The content of the report
includes CPI, trade, education, migration, health, population estimates and electricity consumption. The
report will be publish after it is officially finalized .
Merchandise Trades
The office normally updates the
trade statistics from the Customs Department. The Customs Department runs PCTrade system
entering relevant data regarding the imports and exports of Tuvalu. Recently
the CSD has updated 2005 imports statistics. Other important 2005 trade
statistics will be included in the 2005 Statistics report
2004/05 HIES for Tuvalu
The CSD has successfully conducted the Household Income & Expenditure
Survey in November 2004 on Funafuti, and May 2005 for the Outer Islands. The office is
currently drafting the
report and it will be published after it is officially finalized. Note that some of the important indicators
are published in this website.
Office news and developments
Demographic and Health Survey (DHS)
 The DHS is a new activity for all the National Statistics Office
of the Pacific. In the meantime 4 countries are expecting to run such a survey, i.e. Nauru, Solomon Islands,
Marshall Islands and Tuvalu. The survey is very important as it will provide sufficient evidence reflecting
the Health situation of the countries. A pilot test will be conducted for these 4 countries before running the
actual survey. The NSOs are practically responsible for implementing the survey actiivities with SPC
Statistics and Demography Programme providing technical assistance.
