Preparing for 2009 Census of Population and Housing

VNSO CONDUCTED A PILOT CENSUS - 15 NOVEMBER 2008

...In preparation for the nation-wide undertaking of the 2009 Census of Populationa and Housing with technical support from SPC Statistics and Demography Programme (SDP). Two technical staff from SDP spent two weeks working with the VNSO especially in the area of training for the conduct the pilot census.

The purpose of the pilot was basically to test questions in the questionnaires and trial new technologies such as using of GPS to capture household locations and the use scanning of the census forms.
