Millennium Development Goals - Progress
In-country MDG activities in Vanuatu began with an awareness raising workshop for Government and CSOs in August 2003 conducted with assistance from SPC and UNFPA. The Prime Minister endorsed the formation of the Vanuatu MDG Task Force in early 2004, for which the Department of Economic and Social Development (DESD) is the secretariat. A follow-up workshop is expected to take place at a later stage to evaluate progress made after the first workshop.
As result of the first workshop and on-going assistance provided through the SPC MDG task force, the following documents have been compiled:
MDG Indicators compiled
with consultations from appropriate stakeholders
Existing National priorities that
could support the implementation of the MDGs
