Emily Naidike
Emily is RMC's sole graphic artists. She is quickly making a name for herself in the graphics world. With over a decade of experience as a graphic artist Emily values images from the ominous to the picturesque. She understands that art may not be well received and artists may have differing concepts from those of their audience. This can be a challenge given that artists treasure their talents and their designs. Today, Emily has branched into sharing her knowledge with upcoming graphic artists as a trainer. She hopes young aspiring graphic artists will use emotive language into their creation. Whether it is contemporary or conservative art or whether it is abstract or concrete versions, Emily’s artwork is easily interpreted. Emily landed her first job as a certified Graphic Artist at Stolen Pig a clothing design company. Later, she moved on to Sansom Design, now Samba before she progressed to Colonial’s Marketing. Her calling to the region has brought her to SPC’s Regional Media Centre.

Sylvia Rupeni
Sylvia is the Programme Assistant and is a constant reminder that it is never too late to try new challenges and pursue exciting horizons. This is exactly what happened when she left the comforts of the University of the South Pacific, USP, to join RMC. Unbeknown, to Sylvia is that the media industry can be a field of headaches despite its vibrancy. But true to her calling, Sylvia’s hidden administrative aptitude is exactly what her job as Programme Assistant demands. Prior to joining RMC, Sylvia was the Production Officer at the Centre for Educational Development & Technology, USP. She completed her Secretarial Studies at the Derrick Technical Institute (now Fiji Institute of Technology) in 1970 and towards the end of her studies; she was hired by the USP. What was supposed to be a three-month apprenticeship turned out to be a job that almost lasted her lifetime. Unlike her previous work RMC presents Sylvia a range of new challenges and working with media people is a constant change that occurs every day. |
