Did you know? In recent months training in radio has increased dramatically. This is due to thirst for knowledge and the desire to learn of our rural dwellers many of whom can only access radio. In some locations radio stations are located in mainland (urban centres) and the reception to islands and isolated areas can be poor. What can be done about this? What is happening is the development of a rural radio or community radio concept where people in our villages and settlements are trained to become announcers, news gatherers and technicians. The RMC is stregthening its training in this area. However, this is based on requests from communities. Other radio training programmes include: 1. Radio programming 2. Radio script writing 3. Radio presentation 4. Interviewing skills |
