The Kiribati 2009 Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) is the first for the country and one of the five DHSs conducted in the Pacific as part of the Asian Development Bank (ADB)/Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) Pacific Demographic and Health Surveys Project.
The primary purpose of the Kiribati DHS is to furnish policy-makers and planners with detailed information on fertility, family planning, infant and child mortality, reproductive health, child health, nutrition, women's empowerment, and knowledge of HIV and AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections.
To provide national policy-makers, planners, as well as other national and international users with ready access to key information across the report, we have developped a series of Fact Sheets entitled "DHS Key Facts and Figures at your fingertips". This set contains 9 sheets covering the 13 substantive chapters of the DHS report.
The Report and Fact Sheets are in English only. You can download them in PDF format from here (5 Mb Report, and 1.2 Mb Fact Sheets).
