The Nauru 2007 Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) is the first for the country and one of the four DHSs conducted in the Pacific as part of the Asian Development Bank (ADB)/Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) Pacific Demographic and Health Surveys Pilot Project. The primary purpose of the Nauru DHS is to furnish policy-makers and planners with detailed information on fertility, family planning, infant and child mortality, maternal and child health, nutrition, and knowledge of HIV and AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections.

To provide national policy-makers, planners, as well as other national and international users with ready access to key information across the report, we have developped a series of Fact Sheets entitled "DHS Key Facts and Figures at your fingertips". This set contains 8 sheets covering each of the 8 substantive chapters of the DHS report.

Tonga 2006 Census of Population and Housing, Volume 2: Analytical Report

This report is based on Tonga’s 2006 population census and was prepared by SPC’s Statistics and Demography Programme in close collaboration with the Statistics Department Tonga.

The report contains an analysis of Tonga’s recent population growth and dynamics, in particular the level,trends and patterns of fertility, mortality, and migration. The likely impacts of some of these dynamics on wider cross-cutting issues, such as the environment, health, education and economic activity, are discussed.

The report also presents a set of population projections to provide planners and policy-makers with scenarios of the size and structure of Tonga’s future population with the aim of assisting decision-makers to effectively plan for the needs of different population groups at different points in time.

Marshall Islands 2007 DHS Fact Sheets

RMI DHS Report cover The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) 2007 Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) is the first for the country and one of the four DHSs conducted in the Pacific as part of the Asian Development Bank (ADB)/Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) Pacific Demographic and Health Surveys Pilot Project.

The primary purpose of the RMI DHS is to furnish policy-makers and planners with detailed information on fertility; family planning; infant, child and maternal health; nutrition; domestic violence; and knowledge of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. The comprehensive report is now in print.

To provide national policy-makers, planners, as well as other national and international users with ready access to key information across the report, we have developped a series of Fact Sheets entitled "DHS Key Facts and Figures at your fingertips". This set contains 10 sheets covering each of the 10 substantive chapters of the DHS report.

New Caledonia Population Atlas, based on 2004 Census of Population and Housing

New Caledonia Atlas cover Using maps from the PopGIS, and  the main Census results from 1989, 1996 and 2004, this Atlas highlights key findings pertaining to New Caledonia's population in some key socio-economic areas.

The information is mapped at 2 levels : New Caledonia's 33 communes, and Grand Noumea's districts over Noumea, Dumbea, Mont-Dore and Païta. Smaller levels, such as villages or customary districts, can be accessed in the PopGIS software.

In 5 chapters, the Atlas describes and explains population characteristics, education, unemployment and labour market activities, as well as household and housing characteristics. The fifth chapter presents a set of population projections to the year 2030.

This Atlas is in French only, in hard copies, and in PDF format you can download from here (36.4 Mb).
