Today, the Pacific Community (SPC) staff mourns the loss of a valued former colleague, Jill Emberson. SPC extends its deepest condolences and sympathy to the family and close friends of Ms Emberson.

Before becoming a successful ABC broadcaster, also known for her long-lasting advocacy against cancer  she founded the Pink Meets Teal Campaign, helping breast cancer survivors  she used to work at the Pacific Community Headquarters in Noumea as Communication Officer in the Pacific Women's Resource Bureau from 1990 to 1993.

During her tenure with SPC, she earned the respect of her colleagues and the many SPC partners she interacted with. She is remembered as a strongly committed advocate for Women's rights in the Pacific, and beyond.

On this very sad day, SPC wishes to acknowledge the remarkable Pacific Island woman Ms Emberson was.
