On the 18th and 19th of February 2019, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of Solomon Islands will host a national civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS) stakeholders committee workshop, aimed at reviewing and finalising key policy documents to support CRVS functions. These documents include a Memorandum of understanding that will facilitate data sharing between the Ministry of Health and Medical services and MoHA, and a white paper prepared for submission to cabinet, which marks an initial step towards the review of the country’s civil registration legislation. This workshop and the review of these policy documents is supported by the Brisbane Accord Group, under the leadership of Vital Strategies and SPC.
