Coding for the Pacific Islands Literacy and Numeracy Assessment trial will begin this week, with data entry operators also to resume work. Just like the data entry operators, coders will be trained to undertake the specialised coding of the PILNA scripts from the 13 Pacific island countries that took part in the trial assessment. The trial is in preparation for the fourth cycle of PILNA next year. Accuracy to detail is especially critical at this phase. This phase will also allow the Large Scale Assessment team to evaluate the coding modules, and reconfigure it should there be a need.
