Pacific Regional Research Symposium

The Pacific Community (SPC) will convene its first-ever Regional Research Symposium on Agriculture and Forestry in Nukuʻalofa, Tonga, between 22 – 23 May 2025, bringing together leading researchers, technical experts, government representatives, and partners to showcase recent research, innovations, and strategies across agriculture, forestry, and fisheries in the Pacific.

This knowledge-sharing platform supports the Pacific's Regional Research Agenda and aims to strengthen evidence-based action, collaboration, and the uptake of science and technology in sustainable land and resource management. 

Key Outputs of the Symposium:

• Publication of the Symposium Proceedings to capture key presentations and findings
• Launch of the Journal of Agriculture and Forestry in the Pacific
• Documentation of key outcomes and recommendations to support the Hearing Pacific Voices component of the Regional Research Agenda
• Establishment of a Pacific research network to support and inform the Partners in Research component of the Regional Research Agenda
