What is Leadership for Change?
This course is part of the Pacific Fisheries Leadership Programme offerings intended to enhance participants’ capacities to confront challenges across organisational and regional boundaries through the application of analytical tools to address the complexity of change in social systems. The participants learn and develop strategies for effective intervention in challenges they currently face.
Upcoming course to be delivered face-to-face in Fiji from 31 October to 4 November 2022
The upcoming Leadership for change course will be delivered face-to-face in Fiji. This is the first PFLP offer to be delivered in person since 2020. Up to 30 participants will be selected. The course, flights and accommodation are fully funded.
Eligibility criteria and requirements:

Must be working in any Pacific Island Country or Territory in the fisheries sector.

Full commitment to attend the entire duration of the course, 5 days, in person.

Have a drive to address a complex challenge facing the fisheries sector in the Pacific region.

Working in a leadership role or a goal to influencing change from within your organisation, community, country or region to improve development outcomes in the Pacific fisheries sector.
Travel requirements

Valid passport

Fully vaccination for COVID-19. Certificate to be provided by successful candidates

Successful candidates will be responsible for arranging their visas if needed

Successful candidates will be responsible for obtaining their own travel insurance

Application process
Please make sure you answer all the questions in the application form. This is a highly sought-after course, as such, we follow the below process before offers are made:
Applicants are required to complete the application form which includes 2 questions that are used during the shortlisting process:

What are your motivations for wanting to undertake this course? What do you hope to get out of it?

Are you facing a current challenge in your workplace, organisation, community, country or region that requires more than a technical solution?
Shortlisted applicants will be notified and invited to an interview
If you are successful, you will be sent a letter of offer that needs to be signed by you and your supervisor. You will need to send us the following:

Copy of Passport

Copy of COVID-19 vaccination certificate

Confirmation that your travel insurance will be provided by the applicant or their organisation
Please make sure you have your documents in JPG or PDF versions. Each document must not have a file size above 10 MB.
Timeline of applications

Applications close on Wednesday, 31 August at 11.00pm Fiji time.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by early September to proceed with an interview with a coach.
