EQAP's specialists in psychometric analysis and item development are facilitating the professional development training of Samoa's education assessment and examination officers. The need for the training was flagged after Samoa's Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture restructured its assessment and examinations division. The move was to allow its officers to specialise in more specific roles. As a result, many of the officers are new to their roles and required upskilling. Responding to the ministry's request, EQAP designed a comprehensive training schedule that spans 14 weeks. The virtual trainings, organised for a few hours each day, comprise of a range of activities, including presentations, plenary sessions, group discussions and independent activities.
