Hybrid meeting taking place virtually and face to face at Tanoa International Hotel, Nadi, Fiji
The Pacific Plant Protection Organization (PPPO) was founded in October 1994 by the South Pacific Conference (now the Pacific Community Conference) at its 34th Session in Port Vila, Vanuatu. The Biosecurity & Trade Support unit of the Land Resources Division of the Pacific Community (SPC-LRD) is the Secretariat of PPPO and administers its affairs. The PPPO is tasked with coordinating the harmonisation of phytosanitary measures and fostering cooperation in plant protection services and other phytosanitary matters among members in developing contacts with and where appropriate, providing input into other global and regional organisations like the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) that have authority in such matters.
The Pacific Plant Protection Organization (PPPO)/ International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) Draft International Standards of Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM) Regional Workshop/ Meeting will be taking place from the 22nd – 24th August (3 days) followed by a 2-day PPPO Executive Committee (PPPO Exco) meeting for the Exco Members from the 25th – 26th August 2022. The PPPO ExCo consists of nominated members elected from the PPPO full board, with the following members: Chairman, Vice Chairman and two (2) members from each sub-region.
