Webinar: Infrastructure asset condition - Assessment in Pacific Island Countries

Location
Virtual

The PRIF and SPC will host a Pacific Regional Training Webinar on Infrastructure Asset Condition Assessment on 10 & 17 February 2022.

The premature deterioration of infrastructure affects people’s lives as a result of degraded roads, poor school facilities, outmoded health facilities, contaminated water, and unsafe wharves and airports. Planning for infrastructure maintenance, rehabilitation and upgrading of public infrastructure is critical to maintain and improve resilience of infrastructure in the Pacific Island Countries.
The Pacific Community (SPC) and the Pacific Region Infrastructure Facility (PRIF) jointly developed and recently published a Methodology for Condition Assessment of Public Sector Assets in Pacific Island countries. The methodology is designed to make managing and assessing infrastructure assets easy. It provides a systematic approach to performing a condition assessment for public asset and it is included in the Pacific Catastrophe Risk Assessment Financing Initiative (PCRAFI) data collection templates to inform the exposure component of disaster risk.
Two training sessions are provided. Nominees may wish to attend either or both sessions:
- The first webinar to be held on 10 February 2022 from 1 pm to 3 pm (Fiji time GMT+12). This session will cover condition assessment of civil infrastructure, including buildings, roads, bridges, culverts, airport runways and taxiways, seaport wharfs and jetties and coastal protection structures.
- The second webinar session to be held on 17 February 2022 from 1 pm to 3 pm  (Fiji time GMT+12). This session will cover condition assessment of water, sewer, electricity, and telecom infrastructure assets.
