Pacific Qualifications Assurance Advisory Board Meeting

The Pacific Quality Assurance Advisory Board will meet over two days to discuss the future direction of EQAP's qualifications work in terms of its support of national accrediting agencies. As the regional quality assurance agency, EQAP's qualifications team hopes to complete a plan of activities and initiatives through which it can better support member countries in quality assuring post-secondary education and training.

While education ministries or departments of SPC member countries remain EQAP's focal point, the regional quality assurance work requires the support of national accrediting agencies.

Members of the Pacific Quality Assurance Advisory Board who will meet this week include the heads of the national quality assurance agencies of Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu; and the senior staff of Kiribati and Solomon Islands' education ministries.

The input and advice from the board will provide focus and direction to the support provided by EQAP's Qualifications Unit. This will help to ensure EQAP's work remains relevant and current in the support it provides to the countries. The board last met in 2016.
