Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW) Symposium

The 2nd Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW) Symposium 2024 is aimed at advancing collective efforts to address and eliminate violence against women and girls across the Pacific region. The symposium serves as a critical platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, reflections, and determining practical solutions to enhance the delivery of essential counselling services for survivors of gender-based violence.

As leading organisations dedicated to gender equality, women's empowerment, and the protection of human rights, the Pacific Community (SPC) and UN Women Fiji Multi-Country Office bring together government officials and civil society service delivery providers, particularly those committed to the work of ending violence against women and girls in the Pacific and specialise in counselling, to promote ongoing engagement, socialise the Regional Gender-Based Violence/Violence Against Women Counselling Framework, and identify partnerships that can support the adoption and implementation of the Framework at national level.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment by SPC and the UN Women Fiji Multi-Country Office to ensure that all women and girls in the Pacific region can live free from violence, and access the support they need.
