Pacific Education: Year 6 grade level performance in Literacy

 

While girls’ persistent positive performance in literacy is reassuring, the learning gap for boys is a matter of serious concern. A 35 points gap is significant as 50 points is equivalent to two years of school. The PILNA research over the years has flagged the need to explore the underlying factors that are impeding boys’ progress in learning these critical foundational skills.
