Do you know how important staff safety is for aquatic farms? These steel toe dive boots for Kaybee Enterprises from Fiji will protect them from aquatic snails, and sharp and pointy objects in ponds. Such objects can cause cuts and abrasions for farmworkers unless they shield their feet with protective footwear. Through the PacAqua project, funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), SPC has provided assistance to Kaybee Enterprises, under a cost-share arrangement, to improve safety of their staff who spend a considerable amount of their time working in ponds at their tilapia hatchery.
