At the outset I would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Government of French Polynesia for their warm hospitality in hosting this significant meeting on the beautiful shores of Tahiti. Your support and dedication to the Pacific Community are truly commendable, especially during a time when hosting in New Caledonia has presented challenges. We are deeply appreciative of your commitment and generosity in stepping forward to host this important.
I also express our deep appreciation to the outgoing Chair, Solomon Islands, for their exemplary leadership during the 53rd CRGA. Your guidance and stewardship have been invaluable.

I encourage all participants to engage in open and constructive dialogue and to work towards a shared vision for the Pacific.
