Regional Education Policy Workshop

Location
Virtual

A regional workshop to build the capacity of Pacific education systems in developing and reviewing education policies will be convened to help strengthen planning and monitoring of policies.

The need to build capacity in this area was identified after the Pacific Benchmarking for Education Results project in 2016. It found that education policies were not always administered as intended, and that it was difficult to measure the impact of policies due to the absence of an implementation plan and the lack of reliable data.

The regional workshop will enable EQAP to reach out to more countries in a short timeframe, to provide an opportunity for collaboration, to share and learn from one another, and to identify areas of priority. Hence, aside from capacity-building, the workshop will help EQAP to better understand member country situations in this area. This will help EQAP to better target future support programmes for its members.

Workshop participants will be mainly education officials responsible for policy and planning.
