French Development Agency

The Agence Française de Développement (French Development Agency – AFD) is a public financial institution that implements the policy set out by the French Government. For over 75 years and in more than 90 countries and overseas territories, it has provided funding and assistance to projects that improve living conditions in communities, support economic growth and promote sustainable development.

Through its expertise and the commitment of its 1837 associates, AFD provides funding and assistance to projects led by all types of development stakeholder, both public and private. It also takes part in the dialogue on public policies that help identify new development pathways.
Partnerships and innovation are at the very heart of its action, which revolves around:
