The PILLAR-ED project is a European Union (EU) funded project administered by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The Pacific Community (SPC) is an implementation partner to the FSM.
The PILLAR-ED project objective is to increase community awareness of climate change adaptation and sustainable energy measures through installations and energy efficiency measures in schools and public buildings and through development of school curriculum. The project responds to key recommendations made in a 2012 climate change impact assessment report in FSM. The project is also aligned to the FSM Strategic Development Plan 2004 – 2023 and the FSM National Integrated Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change policy (2013).
