Meet Rayshal Nath, the powerhouse behind the scenes who brings heart, hustle, and a whole lot of sparkle to finance and grants. With a passion for making systems work smarter and smoother, she’s all about turning numbers into meaningful change and making finance feel friendly, approachable, and empowering for everyone she works with.
She recently joined the Pacific Women Lead (PWL) Programme at the Pacific Community (SPC) as a Finance and Grants Officer and says she’s been inspired by the programme’s commitment to empowering women and girls.
Rayshal joined Pacific Women Lead in March 2025, but her SPC journey began over eight years ago in the Human Rights and Social Development division.
“My advice to anyone thinking about joining the development sector is to do it with purpose and heart. This work is not just about policies and programmes – it’s about the people!”
She started as a Programme Assistant, then moved into Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, supporting baseline surveys for the Pacific Partnership to End Violence Against Women and Girls.
Later, she became a Finance Assistant, contributing to budget development and donor reporting. Most recently, she led financial management for the Pacific People Advancing Change (PPAC) programme, supporting over 200 grantees under small grants.
She’s excited to grow in strategic grant management and financial leadership, and to design financial tools that are both compliant and empowering. Rayshal looks forward to collaborating with regional stakeholders to support sustainable change.
Growing up, Rayshal saw her family’s resilience in the face of limited opportunities.
“I’ve seen the sacrifices they made and the resilience they showed in the face of limited opportunities, and that’s stayed with me. It’s what pushes me to ensure that the work I do creates meaningful opportunities, strengthens support systems, and contributes to lasting, community-led change”
Rayshal aspires to become a leader in financial and grant management, shaping regional systems that make funding more accessible, especially for grassroots organisations.
An interesting fact about her is that she gets genuinely excited spotting sharks while snorkelling.
When asked about her favourite meal, Rayshal says:
“Anything my partner cooks. But prawn pasta is my top pick. Sharing a meal made with love brings me joy and keeps me grounded.”
