Pacific Education: Regular development training for teachers is key for enhancing student learning

Teaching is an increasingly complex profession in today’s world. To maintain a high standard of teachers, regular professional training is essential. Research has widely established that regular development training for teachers is key for enhancing student learning. The PILNA 2018 research shows that this area of in-service training for teachers, particularly through the means of development learning communities, could be strengthened. The research categorised in-service training into nine areas, three of which bolsters student support (student welfare, inclusive education, and leadership skills).
