Did you know? Some marine organisms may respond positively to ocean acidification, such as plant and algae that may benefit from increased dissolved CO2. The uptake of CO2 by plants and algae may buffer against ocean acidification in coastal waters and provide long-term carbon storage (“Blue carbon”).
