Stat of the week: 90% of the land area of Solomon Islands is covered by forest

Nine-tenths of the land area of Solomon Islands is covered by forest. The Pacific Region (excluding Australia and New Zealand) has the highest forest cover of any region in the world. It is crucial to protect these forests because we depend on them for our survival, from supporting our livelihoods and providing habitats for animals, to cleaning the air we breathe and mitigating climate change.
