SPC provides public health surveillance support to Wallis and Futuna for the Mini-Games

The Pacific Mini-Games will begin today in Wallis and Futuna. To protect the population’s health security during the games, the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) and Wallis and Futuna Health Agency have put in place strengthened public health surveillance mechanisms.

Inform’ACTION Special Issue – Climate Change and Health

This special issue presents the proceedings of the First Pacific Regional Climate Change and Health Symposium, which took place in Fiji in September last year. This important symposium, which was hosted by the Fiji University and supported by SPC, WHO and the Fiji Ministry of Health, attracted more than 130 health professionals and researchers from the Pacific and Asia.
Abstracts from all the oral presentations and posters are included in this issue of Inform’ACTION, as well as the symposium’s outcome statement.

The pathogen causing the diarrhoea outbreak currently affecting Kiribati has been identified by Mataika House Laboratory in Fiji yesterday. It is a rotavirus.
