SPC Digital Library is compliant with OAI-PMH 2.0

OAI‑PMH is a framework that allows digital repositories to expose their metadata in a structured, machine‑readable way so that other systems can harvest it and build discovery services on top of it. It was created by the Open Archives Initiative as a low‑barrier interoperability protocol, using simple HTTP requests and XML responses to exchange metadata across distributed repositories. At its core, OAI‑PMH defines a small set of operations—called verbs—that let a harvester list collections, retrieve identifiers, and obtain full metadata records from a repository. The protocol requires support for Dublin Core but can also deliver richer metadata formats, making it flexible for libraries, archives, and research infrastructures. By standardizing how metadata is shared, OAI‑PMH enables large‑scale aggregation, indexing, and cross‑repository search services.
