Massive waves (up to 240 m of amplitude) propagate in the ocean interior along density interfaces (I.e. between warm surface waters and deeper cold waters). It can cause internal solitary waves (ISW), provoking remarkable changes in ocean current and thermal structures in a relatively short time (tens of minutes). ISW can lead to significant impacts on submarine navigation, fishery activities and marine ecosystems.
