Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping Officer, World Food Programme

Anare Motokula is currently a Vulnerability, Analysis and Mapping (VAM) Officer with the World Food Programme. Anare specializes in Geospatial technology and currently focuses on remote surveys for Pacific countries impacted by COVID-19 and current lockdown measures. One of his major past achievements includes receiving the Spatial Enablement award during the Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards for leading the team that completed the “Compilation of the Fiji 2017 Census Household Dataset”. Anare believes in the power of open-source data in providing a timely, targeted more efficient disaster response and advocates for the use of GIS especially in emergency management.
