Green News: SPC is making a significant shift to renewable energy in its Headquarters

Noumea

SPC is making a significant shift to renewable energy in its Noumea Headquarters.

Aligned with SPC's Social and Environmental Responsibility, the new photovoltaic system enables SPC to act as a responsible organization proudly contributing to regional efforts against global warming, and to the goal set by the 2015 Paris Agreement during the COP 21.

About 455 tonnes of CO2/year will be saved from now on. This step forward represents a key milestone for SPC who joined Climate Neutral Now in 2018 and stays committed to taking climate action and becoming climate neutral by 2050.

Regional organisations have an important role to play in raising awareness of these issues and leading by example. This new effort complements SPC’s continuous climate change mitigation support to Pacific Island countries across the region, provided through the Pacific NDC Hub and sustainable and clean energy projects.
